Slow Fashion October

knit-slow-fashion-01Thanks to Karen Templer, and Fringe Association, October is the month to consider slow fashion. While a lot of my wardrobe is purchased, I do try to make purchases from companies that are taking steps to provide a fair wage, use sustainable materials, or recycle wool and polyester to create new fabrics (such as prAna).

However, I’m not going to pass up the month without trying to add more handmade to my wardrobe. I’m slowly working on Carrie Bostick Hoge’s Shoreline Vest in Quince and Co’s Chickadee.

Are you making anything for your closet this October? If so, I’d love to know about your project.
